Hello Good People,
I've been searching high and low for a busker/performer directory! And here we are... Phewwww!
So, The Karavan Festival is coming to town! I am planning the first of several festivals at the Montessori Learning Centre in Pickering, ON, Canada on May 29th & 30th then the following week (June 5th & 6th) in Whitby at Inspirational Steps. The times on all days are 10am to 4pm.
The venues are relatively small and we figure about 5 performers would be ideal.
There is no general admission charge. It will be $1/ticket for our Vintage Carnival Games. So we're hoping The Hat is good to you!
This is a combined effort of two businesses (Kidd-O Games & Action Figures) to bring awareness to The FAITH (Further Advancement In Tree Habitats) Project – an organization raising money to buy equipment and trees, which in the end is used to provide a sustainable tree habitat that will have a healthy and lasting effect on both the environment and the people living in Durham Region and beyond! It's actually the brainchild of an ambitious little 11 year old girl (Faith)... she's just received a nice grant from GM - very encouraging!
The Karavan Festival will be an ongoing old world style event helping out worthy causes (usually environmental &/or child related). This is a venture we're passionate about and want to create something everlasting. If we can pull off this first one who knows what kind of mark we can make!
We have hosted Fireworks Spectaculars and a very successful Halloween Haunt in the community and have high expectations for this festival.
There will be an article (likely front page) in the local papers in the second week of May and we will advertise in any way possible but apologize as we really have no idea how many will be in attendance. I would love to make it worth everyone’s while but have no guarantees. We are offering space at no charge and hope this is enough incentive for you to take part.
We would appreciate if you can find time in your schedules to help us draw some much needed attention on any or all four of the days… and/or if you know of other performers who we may contact let us know!
