looking for cool street acts in June in Syracuse NY

June 14 from 10 am to 4 pm Stolp Avenue Syracuse NY
The Greater Strathmore Neighborhood Association and the Cultural Resource Council Presents
    Art on the Porches 2003
Artists show and sell their work on the front porches of historic homes in Syracuse, NY.
This event will be in its third year this year and is a blast. We had about 900 people through this event last year (with rain). Art on the Porches is put on with a very popular historic homes tour in the Strathmore neighborhood.
This year I am looking to create a funky kind of scary European circus atmosphere. I am looking for mimes, large puppets, fire eaters, stilt walkers and one of those organ grinders with a monkey, also an Italian acapella opera singer...jugglers would be cool, caracature artists - if you think that you would fit in here, let me know
This is a great show the artists love it.

    Sue -
What kind of budget do you have for the performers?

I am looking to pay about $100.00 per act. I can also provide a free lunch and lots of freedom to work the crowd. There are a few other events in Syracuse on that same weekend, so if anyone would like to come in from out of town I can make some calls on your behalf and make some contacts. There is also a good comedy club here called Viva Debris that I would contact for anyone looking for an evening gig.

I might pay 100 bucks and lunch if the organ grinder and his monkey came to my house. That'd make for a great party. Do organ grinders with monkeys really exist? Sorry, going back to blahblahblah.

Believe it or not...there was an organ grinder with a monkey at the New York State Fair last year. I would love to track him down...I'd settle for a violinist with a tu-tu wearing ferret...but, doesn't every organ grinder have a monkey??

I do not have accomidations for performers. Although lodging in Syracuse is not very expensive.
