    Valencia Las Fallas

Just to give super advance warning of one of spains most famous festivals , Las Fallas , Valencia 16-19th March .
Promises to be quite a hot one , what with the burning of huge carnival floats , the newly arriving summer and all the other fun that can be had . The buskings OK too , and there is always the surrounding towns of Sagunt and Denia who also have their version , if the police throw us out .
Easter falling in the middle of April promises to be full of fun in Andalucia , with Sevilles feria Abril , falling , well in April .

Been there. Done that. (1999). My personal experience was meager hats. Very little paper.

I was doing my comedy/juggling show in Spanish, but didn't have an amp or a big, tall unicycle. Crowds were into it, but hats were less than half what I was used to in other parts of Europe.

It is a great 24-hour party festival though. My favorite moment was running into a guy at about 4 am on the street (streets still packed!) and he was saying to everyone who passed by (in Spanish), "Excuse me, I'm real drunk, and I forgot where I parked. If you see my car, please let me know where it is."

I found there was very little competition and getting a crowd was pretty easy. Finding a pitch was pretty hard because the best places are off limits because of events, or just way too heavily trafficked.

Just enough time to get the airplane booked and head off to Valencia .For their big party party .Starting on the 12ish with the big night being the 19th March . Theres camping sites open for the adventurers , errm and we will be there , all excited .
Dont expect large hats or paper money , but youll be sure to do well .We will be heading down the coast terrorising the locals for a while after , being in Granada for Easter .Be aware that as Granada is so good , theres already a mounted mafia , and all newcomers will be treated badly .

Just found out through idle gossip that theres another festival in Castellon following Las Fallas in Valencia .
Castellon being a smalish city near the sea not far from Valencia , which makes it two weeks of unpure scandalous fun , in my reconing .Oh yes , and in was 24degrees in Valencia yesterday .

Head to Valencia , Its a bit of a no no city as far as busking is concerned , but during the fiestas the cops lay low .
And yes , Benidorm is a big black hole what with all the corruption monopolys mafias and such like , theres no room for the small guys .
Now is the time that the birds are flying North , as the climate is warming the Northerners . The police are Absolutely no problem in , Basque country , Galicia , Asturias , Cataluņa (stay out of Barca ) , The Interior , Granada (problems for hippies ), Andalucia .See you in Valencia ,good luck.

Hi Matt man, cool news there thank you. We are doing some hotel shows down here in Benidorm so thngs are ok here. but old town Beni was a nite mare when i first got here. Do a show get stoped, wait --- do a show get stoped --- wait do a show get niked .loolo ... what a joke.

We are going to Denia for the festival there then may be up to Valencia. We have a friend, Spainish Lawer here who lives in Denia so she has checked and all things look groovy in Denia.

              See you in Valencia maybe.

Its basically that its been worked to death , and people tend to get trapped there , It happened to me . Not that theres anything wrong in that , Its just that summers coming , and bigger bags of money are available .Try Castellon after Valencia , Then think about Easter .After that , think about the Basque Country , but more on that subject later .Oh , yes , and Denia has their version of Las Fallas, so its a good time to be there also .
