Martin it's on the river under a bridge right down town. It's probably ok to work there.I use to work there across the river on the river walk. Took me 30 days to make enough $$$$$ to make it to New Orleans. That was before them though.Oh and the cops were nice...

Martin,
The Market itself has limited amounts of each of the things you mention. With what you do, there is a circluar brick structure in the center on the "main entrance" aisle that could work. I worked performing as a silent, mask-wearing character doing sleight of hand magic. I also worked a day performing a circle magic show (non silent). I also worked a day performing walk-by close-up magic (non-silent)... The walk-by close-up magic (non silent) worked the best for me. The market is not in a touristy area, nor is it even close to the beach, nor in an area it seems, that is accustomed to street performing (which, given these circumstances, I was impressed by the number of people). I've seen Dallas draw pretty well on a busy day, and I've seen statues and balloon artists do pretty well, too.Comment

I'm playing Riverside Arts Market on June 11th and regardless of how I do, I'm looking forward to it to retest my busking skills.
I've not busked in 13 or more years, used to street perform almost full time in Halifax Canada, but have not stopped entertaining and working a tip jar. I've played paying venues in Florida as a vocalist guitarist for the past 12 years and tips are part of the gig.
Over the past year I've transformed into a real deal OneManBand, still playing clubs and just starting to book fairs and festivals.
Plus I've lucked out with only living 2 hours from Jacksonville and an agent friend I know has booked me into a club that night, so after gas and hotel I'm still gonna be ahead even if only a little bit.
AND I'm an America's Got Talent Season 6 (this year) contestant... can't say more then that but I know the users on this forum are familiar with that shows format
I'll try to post how I did in Jacksonville.

Jeep, funny I did not get a notification of your post. No I'm not the guy who's been playing in St. Augustine, to my knowledge there is no busking there anymore. I did just attend the Florida Federation of Fairs Convention in St. Augustine, but that was a a trade show and I had a booth

I really never cared much for working St. Augustine but you can still work there a little in some places. It just wasn't big enough because if you drew any kind of a crowd ,you drew cops too. Jeff Mason played there many years as a 1 man band, but got fed up with the constant harassment from the shops and cops and left. Roy from England " borrowed " his act and worked there a few years as well. As for as Jacksonville goes I'm sure it's changed some sense the market area has open and it's probably pretty good there now, but i've been stranded twice in my years of busking both times were in Jacksonville . The first time took me a month to make enough money just to get to NOLA. PeaseComment
