    Easton Town Center

I am the talent scout for Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio. Actually, I'm a partner in an entertainment venue called www.shadowboxcabaret.com, but the management has asked us to book buskers this year. The first-ever summer busking series in Columbus Ohio has been a huge success and we are negotiating a year-round busking calendar. The series this year runs from late May to the end of October, but Easton management wants performers all year long, starting in January 2002, so I am soliciting more materials. I NEED BEAUCOUP BUSKERS because they won't let me book any single act more than twice a year in each location. Did I intimate there is more than one venue? YES! We are opening our second cabaret in Newport on The Levee, just across the Ohio River from Cincinnati this October. This new development is being done by the same guys that did Easton and they want buskers there too. A further long shot venue is Ybor City and somewhere else in the Midwest like Minneapolis or St. Louis. So my hope is that we get the booking contract for multiple locations and can then book a busker on a circuit, one to the next. None of this is contracted yet, but I want to develop my A List as soon as possible.

If you are interested in being considered, please drop me a note, forward me materials, etc. I am happy to return video tapes after reviewing them (I know they are expensive). As to how the hats have been here at Easton, buskers seem to be VERY happy with the cash response of the crowds. We had a bit of trouble early on with Gestapo Security here, but have had they reined in by management. Among the talented who have played here: Flyin' Bob, Peter Gross, Paul Isaak, Bill Ferguson (poor guy initially got shut down by the Gestapo; hope he'll come back!) Hilby the Skinny German Juggle Boy, Mardene Rubio, Brett Copes, Karl Salider of Taxi Trix, Byron Bertram, Josh Casey, Stitchy (Dan Furlano), Paul Maskele and more.

The gig is this: we pay you a flat fee. You cover your own travel and hotel. You aggressively pass the hat and keep that in addition to your fee. You work Thursday afternoon through Sunday evening, or even into Monday if it happens to be a holiday. The Thurs. and Friday night hats will be smaller, but good warmups for the 800 people crowds you will experience on the two weekend days. The venue (Easton) requires buskers to provide proof of insurance. When we agree on a fee and a date, a contract will be forwarded to each performer.

As I said, I am accepting materials now for top drawer acts. As soon as we nail down our contract with Easton, we are off to the races!

    Fat, sassy hats to all,

    Chris Lynch

      Steiner and Associates-Centro Ybor

I have been co-coordinating buskers for Centro Ybor in Tampa for over a year. This property isn't for the "thin skinned" performer. Although the hats can be good, the crowds can be ruff.

      Just ask Chris Cool.
