Last Minute 6 Month Gig Opportunity starting July '09

Open to all performers anywhere in the world.

    Hello

My name is Steven Rohmer and I perform a character called, Rollo (www.rolloatthefair.com)

I have been given the opportunity (task) to choose between 4-6 variety performers for a minimum 6 month gig, beginning July '09, for a theme park in Taiwan. (There is the possibility that you will have the option to stay longer if you wish).

All expenses, i.e. transport (air, ground, etc), housing (good western standard), meals, etc., are included. The budget is, $2,500 (USD) per month.

magicians, jugglers, physical comedians, etc. are all welcome. I am looking for variety and originality.

You will have app. (4) 20 min street shows per day, with a parade as the last set. Exact times and frequency to be determined. (you will have input in this decision).

Personal note from mje to you. . .

I have worked for these people and they are very pro., they treat you very well and are always at hand when you have a question or need them.
from start to finish you will be taken care of by staff and the hiring company.

    Important to know. . .

if you are interested, please contact me very soon, as the information must be submitted by Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008

Please keep in mind, until a contract is signed you can still market yourself until the contract is signed. however, once you are chosen, you will be the one that's going to Taiwan. Everything will be firmed up by early december.

    as a final personal word. . .

The pay isn't high. At the time I accepted because I was available and wanted the opportunity. I enjoyed it a lot. If I needed an advance, I had no problem getting one. I felt that there was always great communication, which is important to me as I think it is for all performers, especially when you are in a another country. whether it was having my costume cleaned, a cash advance, or anything, i never had a problem. And they, the Taiwanese people, were great fun.

I look forward to your responses.

Inside the US, please call me at:
    1 503-962-0174
If you are outside the US, please email me at: rollo9@me.com and leave your telephone number with an ideal time to call you. no later than sunday night please.
    Best regards,
    Steven Rohmer

You will have input in the final decision on frequency, days per week, etc.

Has anyone on here tried this type of gig? Either there or in Japan? What's it like? A good way to spend a few months of Winter?

I wanted to write and vouch for Steven.
He is a nice guy, we met briefly in Japan last year.

I know of this gig as I was offered it or one similar a few years ago and believe it is legit.

could be a good opportunity for the right person.
