                Hmmmmm

A festival organizer in a small town in Pennsylvania, USA who has been instrumental in opening up her town for busking posts a request for buskers for a festival in October. She misspells the word busker. Rather than inquiring about the festival or giving advice for starting a festival, all the responses so far have focused on the misspelling.

I guess I'm a little sensitive since I was the one who suggested that she post on this board in the first place and am probably over reacting and am missing the humor in the responses. Trust me on this one, she does know how to spell busker.

On this board many people talk about towns and cities that are over bearing in trying to limit where and when buskers can perform. On the flip side, perhaps we as a busker community need to be more welcoming of the efforts of towns and cities that do reach out to us.

By the way, Lititz, Pennsylvania is a quaint little town set in the rolling hills of Lancaster County. The Wilbur Chocolate company fills the air with smells of dark chocolate as it sits next to the Lititz Springs Park which has a stream running through it from the spring. The town is famous for its Moravian history and its main street is a delightful place to eat or shop.

Again, I'm probably too sensitive and missread humor as sarcasm in the earlier posts.

First, I would like to say that if Pennsylvania was a few states closer I would love to take my daughter to this Festival. To work or watch.

Second, I don't think I would care what letter was typed wrong in the word Busker. A gig would be a gig for her. Why look a gig offer in the mouth for a typo or misspelling. And I can't say that I am perfect. I quite often misspell or typo (unless I over use spell check or the dictionary).

I wish this Festival good luck and an annual return.

I for one am happy she posted here. I'd love to be part of the festival if I'm back in North America in time. (I may not be unfortunately) Either way I hope the festival is a HUGE SUCCESS. I have had nothing, but pleasant experiences from the people in this state thus far.

                          Todd, how you doing buddy

You for got to mention ELVIS! I saw him working on union st. down town Memphis in the early 50's . HA HA HA . I grew up there on normal street(and I ain't lying). We use to go downtown when I was a kid to shop, and some times you'd see him hanging out.I never met him but in later years I use to hang with the Memphis Mafia some.
