I contacted these people after they sent me and a bunch of other performers I know a very similar email looking for fun acts.

A few days after I got that email though I started to see the posting in a LOT of places including craigslist.
It seems they do not really have a budget for performers as their postings said the job paid $12 per hour.

I just thought that anyone interested should know that bit of info.

I did this gig a couple months ago (or at least one through the same organization), and was very happy with it. It was laid-back, fun, and paid $25/hour (not 12, although this might be a different thing?). They even threw in an extra 50 at the end or the weekend to make it a nice round number on the check. I'd definitely recommend it to any other young performers looking to have a good time and make a few bucks.

It's not really "performing", per se. It's more just showing off tricks. They're not looking for an act so much as just an attention-grabber to bring people to their booth.

There's very little difference between $12/hr and $25/hr, if you are only working for one day.

It's not bad if you're working 2000 hours a year, though, as long as that's the sort of thing you want to do.

Yep Rich is right on that one. If I am working a fee type gig my minimum is $500 a day. Yes I do get a number of gigs at that rate, enough to live on anyway.

Rich I agree, I was pointing out that I was wrong about the rate of pay that was posted.
