I have sent a number of performing artists to China over the past five years, all of which have returned with some great experiences and an overall feeling of satisfaction on their visit.
My associates in China have asked me to help find street performers, dance troupes, hip-hop/streetbasketball peformers, etc. to perform at a variety of theme parks and other venues in China. They are looking for performance ranging from solo that roam around the theme parks, to stage shows.
Normally they want a two month commitment from entertainers for this type of work. They provide flights, shipping, acommodations and meals . Accomodations are all at nice hotels.
For solo performers though they will pay around $4,000 per month. For most established performers this would be considered low pay. However if you are an up and coming young performer who wants to build your skills, experience and resume, or if you are an established performer who is looking for something a little different during the slower winter months, China could be right for you.
If you are a group of entertainers who perform on stage, fees would have to be negotiated. One world touring group I sent to China a few years ago, was there this spring performing in a large theme park twice a day, and used the time as a paid rehearsal as they got to use the main stage while they weren't performing to rehearse their next season's show. They were able to get some pay, stay at a nice place, be fed and have a free rehearsal facility for the next show..
