Talent needed for kids shows
Job Description: To perform kids entertainment shows at county and state fairs in Washington, Oregon, and California.
Duration of Employment: Approx. June 1, 2005 - October 1, 2005 (not yet sure on exact dates)
Requirements: Must be either professionally trained in performing arts or experienced in MC talent related work. Applicant must be energetic, clean cut, and enjoy working with the general public, especially children! Applicant must be willing to work in a variety of climates, some cold and damp, others extremely hot and sunny. The job is suitable for a variety of personalities as long as the applicant has a sense of humor, common sense, is willing to work very hard, and creative. Applicant must be in very good physical shape. The job involves a variety of duties including stage work, roaming acts and costume work. The job involves setting up equipment, running shows, and striking equipment. Applicant must pass both a background check and drug test. Applicant must have his/her own vehicle and a working cell phone.
Compensation: Pay is based on experience and flexibility. Range is between $2000.00-$3000.00 U.S. per month. In addition, employer pays for hotel, some fuel expense, and all equipment necessary for the shows. Employer does not pay for meals.

I have personally been performing in this capacity for years and love it. Currently, we have a variety of performers, all with various personalities. All of our staff have one thing in common. They like to travel, love working with kids, and they work very hard.
Edit to the original post: After receiving a number of e-mails regarding this post I felt it was necessary to include a little more information. Hopefully, this addendum will help others interested in this position. At this time we are looking to fill two positions. Neither position involves or requires circus skills. If you have these skill and are only looking for opportunities that invlove them, this may not be the opportunity for you. We are looking for applicants that are seeking a unique opportunity to work with kids and the general public. Our shows last 40 minutes and we typically perform 3-4 shows per day. Microphone skills are very important, you must feel comfortable in front of crowds of people. And yes, the job requires some costume work, about 30 minutes per day. If you feel you are overqualified for this position- relax, it's ok, it's still a great opportunity!
