    Hmmm

Is $750 a week good money?
    (~$31 per show.)

      define 'reasonable'

Its not spectacular money to be sure, but your overheads are covered, theres a $40 buck p.d.
Its attractive for a winter adventure.
It removes you from the xmas/new year syndrome where you are assaulted by your lack of family (orphan) and friends (asshole) while the rest of the world seems to hug themselves in small groups while exchanging plastic titbits.
It externalises and structures 'My life as existential punishmentTM' and gives you thousands of dollars at its completion.
If you have nothing to lose its not a bad gig.
Its not a grown up job, its not top dollar but nor is it working for Mattel Inc in a sweat shop for 20 cents an hour making toys used as tokens of love and generosity.
Its a Japanese gig on the low end of the scale.
But it has obvious advantages for the many people who are no doubt applying for it.
$31 a show Vs $6000 for 2 months easy work all saved.
This lime disease is making me irritable, not that you'd notice

        Pass the sushi...

I assume you're commenting on the gigs in Japan. I wouldn't say no to $750 a week during one of my slow months - November or December. And I wouldn't say no to a trip to Japan, a country I've always wanted to see & perform in.

I'd do it for $750 a day ... the actual going rate

... As Waldo always says: "Buy a ticket!"

Golden Week (always changes slightly) is the best time to go ... every act is overbooked so lots of agents (and double booked performers) are looking for talent.

Going through proper work visa requirements is a problem for them more than you ... but hey; if you are there ... well, ahem.

They always pay cash (get it in Yen) ... bring it home with you ... and take several handfuls of 10 yen coins too (the big copper ones) ... say "omiyage" if asked why you have them but when back in the US they work great on many parking meters, coin laundries and car washes (vacuums too)... if only Cyrus knew this he'd be calling me now.

If you can't make $750 a day street performing in Japan you probably suck.
