    Sault Saint Marie Busker Festival

    Hey Everyone!

The city of Sault Saint Marie, Ontario is wanting to put together a Busker Festival in association with the local youth council for the weekend of August 27 - 29. I know this is a bit late for them to be getting started, but they have a good committee in place that includes some government and business people who I think should be able to pull it off quite well. The only thing they are missing is some quality acts! As such, they have asked me to help out by tracking down those who might be interested.

The city is offering to pay all accomodations and travel as well as to provide a decent performance fee to a total of 6 acts. They are closing down the main street in town to create the pitches and are advertising fairly heavily both in their own city as well as across the border in the US. (Sault Saint Marie has a bridge that links it directly to the States) I've had several phone calls with them and get a good feeling from those involved as to their ability to pull this off despite the late start.

So if anyone is interested and available on August 27 - 29, please drop me to let me know and I will try to put together a line-up that will make this a strong first year event. As mentioned, they are looking for 6 acts in all (including me) and are open to just about any style of performance so long as it meets the family atmosphere they are trying to create.

This is a first time event for the area, but they would like to try to make it an annual thing if it goes off well, so let's see if we can start them off in the right direction!

Interested performers can contact me by e-mail or by phone.

    Thanks,

    Jeff

    Jeff,

You know I'd love to give it a shot, it sounds like fun but alas I am already contracted for Waterloo.

Should I send Chris your way...?

    Peace,
    Dan
