Hello All
As part of our new mission; to become more involved with the street arts community, we thought it a good idea to have a presence on performers.net.
So.. Hello
.
A little about us... We have the pleasure of administrating the street performer areas in Edinburgh during the festival. The Fringe Street Event, like the main Fringe Festival, is an open festival, meaning that anyone can perform (as long as we have space). We don't jury or artistically programme so we enjoy hosting a huge range of performers, from absolute beginners to world class acts, and that's the way we like it.
Compared to other big street events we are a fairly small operation with two full time staff organising the entire event in about 3 months. While we're a small team, together with our participants we manage to present a wonderfully vibrant, friendly and busy street festival with over 600 acts for a marathon 25 days in the heart of Scotland’s capital city.
In 2010 we are extending the services we provide to official Fringe Groups to all those taking part in the Fringe Street Events. We're organising a symposium on circus and street arts and are encouraging promoters, scouts and agencies to come and visit us on the 10th August for a day of events to support our participants professional development (if you know anyone who should come along, please let us know). We hope to expand on this strand of activities in coming years.
Forms to register your intent to come to Edinburgh are now on our website so if you’re planning on visiting us, please go to the website and download a form - http://www.edfringe.com/participants...-street-events
If you’d like to get in touch directly, you can email us at highstreet@edfringe.com, skype us at Fringe Street Events or even call us on a telephone - +44 (0)131 240 1912.
Best wishes
Fringe Street Events Team.
