that's a good point, stephon...

i think that to clarify i'll amend that statment to mean: all art is based upon art which already exists.

which is mostly true... i think.

far be it from me to concede a point...

btw - how the HECK are you??? how's md going for ya this year?

Well, I'll let you know in a couple days--it opens tomorrow. . .

. . .I guess I'd better start going over my show.

(I'll say "hi" to Spencer for you)

" The gem cannot be polished without friction, nor the advice perfected without trials." Me -- Just now

First I would like to thank everyone who posted here, you have been extremely helpfull. Last time I checked this there was only one reply, so you can imagine my suprise as I logged in tonight! Second, I will respond to everything (i think)... if I miss something important please let me know!

When I said lazy, I meant in an 'it's hot and muggy and hot and the AC is broken and we don't have a fan and this has lasted a month' sort of way. When I'm practicing juggling or performing I'm just spoonfulls of sunshine. I just managed a 5 ball flash today and i'm feelin good.

Steven: I was hesitant to call my self a performer until I had 'proved' myself. After I actually earn any money performing I will allow myself that title.

FIREGIRL: I was a fishmonger, and as such, lower class dialct. If you happen to know any of Brook's weak spots I gots ta audition at him next summer.x()

Stephon: Michael Moschen does rock, doesn't he? I love his juggling, but I'm not a big fan of his abstract performance...

Apology for the hail and well met. I was, in fact, mocking my own inability to drop dialect at the end of the day. I had to go close on dishwashing at Damon's AFTER faire days, and the entire restaurant thought I was a mildly retarted Brit.

I was pondering some fire eating, but i won't attempt it until i find someone who does it and still has taste buds to teach me.

I would very much like to be a paid act, or the next best thing. Next year I am goin for pro cast.

Finally, there are a bunch of great bits of advice I made no mention of... that's because I think I got it. Thanks.

hey hunter -- my only advice for you with brook is to watch your back. he and i aren't on speaking terms and haven't been for a couple of years.

there is a very, very good reason for this... he contracted me for glmf's 10th anniversary & cancelled my contract at the last minute... screwing me for six weeks of income... (as i had turned down a contract at the show i'd been doing in that time slot for the past several years in favor of going to glmf) he also lied to me about WHY he was cancelling me...

he has also screwed over many of my friends in the same manner since he took over the entertainment director's job from spencer humm (who was so much better at that job, it's not even funny... and, we all used to think he SUCKED at it... but, compared to brook he's a super star.)

anyhow -- just watch your back. he's not exactly the most honest guy out there... makes lots of promises and rarely follows through on them.

oh... snarky is a new word i heard from a brittish chick i used to hang out with in new orleans... i am unsure as to the ABSOLUTE definition... but, i would say that it is a semi-serious combination between sarcastic and snotty... light-hearted with an edge... if that makes any sense.

i had to pop back in 30 seconds later because i forgot to say that one could say that "whipboy" is the definition of snarky... but, then i would be acting snarky myself, wouldn't i? tee-hee and tra-la-la...

Well, I guess a couple of days have passed, so. . .

. . .opening weekend of the Maryland festival went very well. The weather could not have been nicer, the crowds were large, but not so packed that you couldn't move, and the shows I'm in went well: Shakespeare's Skum (a respectably large fish in the very small pond that is MDRF) revisited some old favorites, to a warm audience reception; the Pickled Punks new show, "Completely Mental" was...interesting the first day, as we reached the end of our timeslot only halfway thru our set (we revamped for Sunday and everything went smoothly) and; the first weekend of the first full season run of my Swami Yomahmi show went very nicely with only minor hiccups that the audience was unaware of.

All-in-all, a good start to what I hope will be a great season.

And now I will wade out of Lake Me, towel off, and relax.
