Haven't got time to write anything more brief!!
Hi! grOmmet here...After sporadically "visiting" the site for some time now, I have become proud member #889.
A trained Community and Youth worker, originally, my people-oriented skills obviously lent themselves to entertaining....It has been a natural progression over the last couple of decades, really.
Took up juggling at the "Junction" in Reading, back in the late 1980's whilst I was broadcasting down there..[a BIG "Hi" to all the Petes!]..taught myself to walk chinese stilts in '92..
At about the same time I entered the Arcane World of Twiddlology.
These days there's no join between myself and The Balloon Wyzzyrd any more....not quite a Jester, nor Jack Pudding...more a fun-loving provocateur...working without a "script" and seizing the Moment..getting the most fun from a series of memorable one-on-one interactions based around a balloon!!
I have lived soley by performing since June 1998, when I took the plunge into Self Employment.
As well as busking alone, I have also nurtured a dozen-or-more fledgling balloon modellers....apppearing with me on the streets collectively as "The BALLOON PLATOON"......[Chester, Torquay, Winchester, Bolton...]..and spawned a few "monsters" in the process!!....
Working collectively these days with a circle of friends / fellow performers in / around NW England and the Midlands..,The ANTICS! Crew is providing Kids Klubs at festivals and larger-scale events.....
It would be GREAT to hear from any other balloon artists..or folk involved with organising family / kids areas within bigger events...
Did I just sit here and write all that!!!???
