    Festival List

    howdy everyone,
its that time of year when we all start booking our summers here in the Northern Hemisphere and I have noticed that the festival list on P.net seems to be missing some events and also have some bad links.
Does anyone have any ideas on how we could all, well those of us willing to share contacts, compile an updated and more complete listing.
If it seems I good idea I would be willing to receive emails and then check info and links etc and then finally compile the list to be posted.
    Any interest or thoughts?

    Sounds Good

Im all for it. I found the correct link for the 4th avenue street fair in Tucson Arizona listed in the festival links. www.fourthavenue.org I contacted them today but dont have any other info. Im happy to share whatever festivals I can find. I have been on line looking up festivals and such and came across a bunch of festival lists that have membership fees for example www.nationaleventsdirectory.com Has any one ever used one of these? And if you have do you have a recomendation?

www.Festivals.com the motherload of festivals in the united states...not all of them have entertainment line ups, but it breaks it down by states and dates, they are trying to expand to world festival listings, but that is off to a slow start.

it is free to browse this one.

Ive used festivals.com and found they are missing a lot of festivals. I still use that site but Im thinking their is a better site out there that I dont know about. I think it would be a great if we had a more comprehisive festival list on this site. One thought about the festival list. I would like to see a write up of details about the festival along with the festival link. This could include what type of acts the festival hires, how many acts they hire, how much the festaval pays or if it is strictly hat, the contact person who is incharge of entertainment, how many people attend the festival, and if someone has worked the festival and posted a review a link to their review. I think this is something we should all help with and I am happy to do whatever I can.

Stretch are you a member of either of these sites? Is it worth it?

I got a FNO membership after it was mentioned here about two years ago. I understand that they have joined CountyFairGrounds. The FNO directory is worth the fee.

Does anyone know of a similar resource that has more of a world focus? (or at least, outside North America?)

Seems the real power of these sites is in the ability to export your chosen data in a flexible format... saves a LOT of time.

FNO allow this with their $89 p/a option... but it's frustrating that it's limited to Canada and the US.

                  anyone...?

There is quite a good list in the Calendar of this site if you haven't already been shown this one:

Also check out the ISAN (international street arts network) site, I'd recommend joining them.

I'm also looking outside of just Buskers Festivals... I'm thinking Arts Festivals, State Fairs, Event Planners, Agents etc...

ISAN is for arts festivals. "international street art network"

                        Here's another one:

                        Happy searching.

I use google word searches for , street theatre, busking festival, etc.

Anyone publishes anything using whatever words I'm looking for I get it the day it's published.

Set it up to go to a particular email file and check it and do your own research.

check out wikipedia, for the states at least it's the biggest list I've seen.

I use www.festivalnet.com - it's the best site for US search - and I write down festivals i like and google them, because they do not give you contacts unless you pay for premium service.
