There really never seemed like a need for chat on this site. Jester is right. There is a lot of traffic on the site, but not a lot of posting. No one has ever pushed for a chat feature.
I actually installed some chat software on the server and played with it a bit about a year ago, but then I decided it was going to be more of a headache than it was worth.
I'm currently in the planning stages of some exciting new stuff for performers.net. I'm talking with some developers next week about a whole bunch of ideas that I want to implement on the site. I know this stuff takes time, but I'm going to be working on it a lot over the next 4 months or so. If this stuff comes out the way I envision it, you'll all be pretty happy... I'm sure. (And I may just throw in Chat for kicks.) Stay tuned.
I've got a shout box, a chat and a chat in 3d.
everyone talks to theselves.
even when you find someone it's like this
Hi
oh Hi
you okay
...yeah
...whatever
need big traffic for a chat to work
I'm thinking of having a special chat evening on the 3d site and if it works I'll put the big 3D site on line, its got terraces, a giant pitch, a bar, disco streets etc

Quote Jim-There is a lot of traffic on the site, but not a lot of posting.
Especially from people who are looking for performers!
How can we get the word out that there is a great bunch of entertainers here just waiting to bust out and dazzle audiences with their talent?
all the arse hole who want shows for a small price want it for free.
we are street artists and NOT french beggars.
This is a very difficult concept to get across to a lot of people, especially in the poorer countries
