    Chat room and other suggestions

Terrific site! Thank you, Jim, for doing such a wonderful job for our community! I like new design, and it is much easier to find information when topics are organized. But I do miss the spontaniety of the old buskers board. It would be great to have some kind of a chat-room or 'chat-board", just to hang out and meet people and blow off the steam sometimes...

It would also be great to have 'the stage" - like "featured performer of the month" page, with pictures and some videos of veterans' shows...

As to current design of the site - it would be helpful to accent 'registration" - it took me a while to figure out how to register, usually on the web-sites it is right in the middle of the page and in large letters, here you really have to look for it...And of course it would be much easier if we could choose our own passwords.

We talked about that earlier... It's actually kind of a pain to maintain, from a web master standpoint. And I just don't have the time right now. This system runs itself. And once you start using it, it really can become like chat, because the threads stay in order and you can have really specific conversations.

Great Idea, but another thing I don't have time for right now. I really want to do the "Worldwide Pitch Directory" with photos and regulations and history of every pitch in the world, but I can't handle it myself. If anyone wants to assist in this project, please contact me. I like the idea of a performer of the month, too. But it would probably wind up being the "Performer of the whenever-I-get-around-to-changing-the-page."

Yes, I know I have to re-arrange the way you get into the forums. I thought the "register" link was pretty obvious; it's at the TOP of every single page once you're in the forums. And if you attempt to post something, it leads you through the process automatically.

As for Passwords, YOU CAN CHOOSE YOUR PASSWORD!!! You only have to use the random password ONCE. Once you're logged in the first time, you can change all your info (except username) on your personal PROFILE page, also a link at the top of each page.

The Registration/Password system is a simple deterrent to people who really ruined the old boards with anonymous postings. It is necessary, but I made it as painless and easy as possible. Sorry you had trouble with it.

    Jim

Pitches of the World! What a terrific idea! You can have my total support on this - I have a lot of photos of USA cities if you need them...
