The library and the front door

Jim, I know I'm just suggesting more work but I was thinking that many of the better writngs in the forums could be moved to the front page of the site, especially into the library. Most of the stories in Robert's "Do or Dare", the media/promotion essays etc. could be moved and perhaps make it easier and more entertaining for those who have just discovered the site (via the front page).
Perhaps some stuff could also be removed completely from the forums because it is no longer relevent and simply confusing to people who are trying to figure out what is goimg on here. There is a lot to work through if you've just found the site.
We have all read the Trevor thing and don't need to subject new visitors to the trial of wading through the mire to find the real value of p.net.
Actually, on second thoughts, maybe they should.
Seriously, I'm thinking an edit and moving some stuff to the library would make things easier for new visitors,.
    Just thoughts, Peter.

    Every-one should watch their drawers!

      Thanks, Peter.

I'm in the process of another site overhaul and you'll see a very different performers.net (hopefully) in May or June. I'm working on several things... all of which are top secret. I do want to archive some of the old ramblings on the forums and move the better posts into the library. That will happen. Please be patient.

I think I'm going to start a performers.net "wish list" thread.

      Jim

I don't think that performers dot net is or should be a how to manual on street performing. It should be a forum for all people interested in variety arts. That's what it is. Thank Jim. I was once a motivated young wannabe. Now I'm a motivated young struggler. Mmm.. struggling... And I came upon this site I don't even remember how but I think Jim told me about it. I waded through this stuff and loved every minute of it and although I may have "wasted" a lot of time I definately have taken more away from it than I would have if it were a manual. I don't think that Jim can find exactly the things that will be helpful to people and what won't be, the only way to do that is to wade through it all yourself and pick and choose what works for you. On the other hand, it is a good idea to put the posts that you find particularly valuable into the library section, as we do respect your oppinion. As far as teaching people to street perform I want to see more aprenticeship. I just talked for a long time. thanks for listening.
