Jim, how much access do you have our passwords? And in your opinion, how easy would it be for anyone else to hack into that file?

Chance,
I do have the ability to access your password, but I have no reason to.
If someone forgets their password, there is a built in program to have it emailed to the person's registration email adddress.
Other than that, I have no business viewing or messing with passwords.
Theoretically, yes, someone could hack into the system and get your password. But the worst thing that could happen is that person could post a message on the forums using your username. Or they could go in and edit past messages you've posted. Overall, no big deal... if anyone even got that far.
In a case like that, I could just delete the hacked username and you could re-register with a new name and email.
I guess security isn't 'lockbox' tight. Any high school hacker could probably get in and mess around in 15 minutes. But this isn't internet banking or stock trading, it's a message board. It would suck if someone tried to cause damage, but why would they?
Jim
