I've been thinking about an image library since the day I saw the new site in it's full format. It would be a great addition to the library.
We're in the process of setting up several new internet galleries and two major image libraries complete with search engines (including a totally new one that can search images for visual elements and content). Since one of these libraries, alone will have over 20,000 images (several hundred are already of performers from Marcel Marceau putting on make-up to dozens of acts that have come through Melb. in the last 10 years.), we will be buying a server (2x40gig)and may be able to house and maintain a site for you. It could possibly be self funding, in that people could buy photos, the photographer gets an appropriate fee and the photo library takes a commission. I personally would pay good money for a great photo of Wayne Condo among others.
We can fit about 130 screen quality (about 70-100K files) pics in a 10meg gallery, but if you wanted to sell images we would eventually have to store 6+ meg files.
I didn't bring it up because it is a lot of work and I'm pretty busy and I thought you too had enough on you plate.
Another thought that has sprung to mind. Can you get kick-backs to help you pay for the site by setting up an on-line bookstore with every-one's recommendations and links to the publishers or distributors. I believe many are happy to kick back the full retail margin on any sales.
Will email you about it later in January.

Every-one should watch their drawers!

I, personally, would love to have a gallery of street pitches around the world. Basically and giant directory of every major street pitch that's ever been worked. I imagine an big index and each page would be devoted to one pitch with a photo or two and a brief "pitch bio" and any info on regulations, liscensing, who regularly works it, etc...
I also want to compile a similar index of fellow performers who have passed away...An "In Memorium" Section for Wayne Condo, Marcus Marconi, Igor Fokin (Boston), David Wolf (UK), and others. Basically a page devoted to each person with a photo and a bio. It would be nice to memorialize our friends who have passed away early in their careers.
I can host this all here, but I need help compiling photos and writing Bios.
There is so much I would love to do, but this is all becoming a part time job. (I could see it being FULL time!) And there's just basically enough income to pay expenses (server space.) I'm doing this for the love of it, folks!
If anyone is serious about getting any of these projects rolling, we need to start planning and start working. Please contact me.
