    saving time while surfing

    Jim, is it possible to get the "show from the last 45 days" icon onto the opening/home page? As it now stands you must first sellect a specific forum before it comes up to the top of a screen, but being able to adjust it *first thing* would save heaps of time.

    An hourglass,
    A book of rules;

    And each man's built,
    'ere his hour's flown,
    A stumbling block -
    Or a stepping stone.

    Go to the preferences link and you can set that to show topics from 1 day to infinity sitewide. It will stay that way in your preferences. SO every forum you go into will automatically be set to the number of days you want to show.

    It doesn't make sense to have it on the front page. You don't need it there. Just set your preferences.

      Okay Jim, that worked for keeping down the number of unwanted older messages, but it still left open another problem.

      Since I am on the road and using a different computer each time I cyber, the cookies thang isn't helping at this end. Your server doesn't recognize me until I try to leave a message and only then, after it requests my name and password, do I get the benefit of the cool little icons, etc. In other words, not even the lightbulbs come on until I give my name and password.

      For us road junkies it would be a big help to have a "sign in" function, where we could right away give our password, before we actually try surfing the forums, so that we can get the benefit of the internal programs.

      But something tells me that you are now going to show me that this function already exists and that I just haven't been smart enough to find it yet!

      Merry Christmas!

        I'll see what I can do. I don't think that's something pre-installed.

        If anyone here has ideas of things you'd like to see added, feel free to go to the INFOPOP forums and surf their tech support boards. (That's all I'm doing!)

        If you find a cool feature and would like me to look into it, email me mailto:jim@smirk.comjim@smirk.com</A> and I'll check it out. Try to get the actual link to the forum you saw it in.

          It would be nice if I could change my password. I've logged on using several computers in the last week and everytime I want to send a message I have to check my password in my email.

            Scot, Click the "profile" link on the main forum page. Log in and you'll be able to change everything but your username.
