New Resources Forum, and chat board?

i think a resources forum on the main board to get the favorite books out of blahblahblah is required. Making it a Recommended Books and Videos section would be excellent. I know I've personally already looked up a book or two, and would love a nice big fat online book list.

And a chat board? it'd be nice but do you think performers.net is ready for it? Jim is it possible?

I could put a Performing Resources Forum under the General Discussions Category...

You guys could post good books, videos, movies, other web sites, etc.

I want other people's opinion on this. A few people have been showing their concern about the NUMBER of Forums. I have no problem with adding a Resources Forum. I like the idea.

How does everyone else feel? Reply here.

    Jim

P.S. Not sure if I want to get into the 'Chat' arena just yet! I already spend two or more hours a day on this site alone. I need to get outside occasionally. I know you're buried in snow in Ottawa, Bri, but do we really need CHAT?

Excellent angle, Jester, REVIEWS.... Each new topic could be an individual Book, Video, web site, etc... and the REPLYs could be everybody's reviews! Nice idea.

A few more votes and I'll get it up.

        Jim

            Gang, you've got my vote..

Bri, I think Jim's right, an IRQ Chat option would be over the top right now. Lets face it most of the performers who visit this forum have little or basic computer skills or are paying by the minute in Internet cafes around the planet. Prehaps in 6 months when there's 2000 members and the whole thing is really rocking.

yeah I wasn't too sure about the chat thing. I think this board would suck us all into it's powerful vortex if Jim added live chat. Maybe someday. It too like to get out of the house, and a chat board certainly wouldnt help.

Looks like everyone likes the resource idea.. make it so...

Maybe you should amalgamate some of the areas nobody uses?

Books, Videos, Moives, Web Sites and Music... The MP3 Music revolution has made it so easy to access music of all genres that I'm having a ball listening to music I'd never even heard of before... It would be fun to include a suggested listening list in there somewhere... Perhaps "Reviews" broken down into the above topics...

                  Yes?
