Shipping your show around Europe

Has anyone avoided excess baggage charges by shipping their show on ahead of them?

Are freight companies in Europe fast, reliable, easy to deal with...?

My specific situation is that I want to ship a flight case from Croatia to the U.K. and will have a window of 3 or 4 days.

Just a warning Kim, nothing happens quickly in Croatia and everything is accompanied by masses of paperwork which is difficult to navigate.

Your best bet would be to contact a 'spedition' company to deal with everything, such as this one.

I have never used their services, it's just the first google spewed out.
Probably won't be cheap either.
