iDVD on mac is super simple, but has some really nice templates.

Nero is also very simple, but I can't say it has nice templates.
You can however just have a picture as the menu background and simple menu buttons.
Roxio does a simple one too I think.

I use Corel VideoStudio Pro X2 on Windows XP. It's easy to use, and can do almost anything, but the interface seems like it's 10 years behind anything you can get on a Mac.

I have DVDitPro, but find it a little quirky, and therefore, frustrating for a project with a fast-approaching deadline.

I do my editing on Studio, and am using their DVD authoring option; seems to be working, but I'll have to see if my computer has the specs needed to render it.

Yeah, even though I was just poking at you with the "get a mac" thing, it seems every time a PC person has gone through this, I just wind up hearing that making DVDs on a PC is a ghetto compared to a mac. No idea why. You'd think M$ would just pop out with some nice DVD software just for competitive reasons.

Yeah, I've heard video edit, etc. is much easier on a Mac, and I'd really love to have one, but I just don't have the funds.

I've set up everything for the DVD (just have to add a little menu music), and then I get to see if my PC has the specs to render and write the thing.

you should invest in a mac, macbook pro 13" is only about 1100$ and then you should use DVD Studio Pro, and final cut, either express or suite.

As that is not your option at the moment, I can tell you that even though my home computer was mac, while on the road I used PC for everything, including some dvd creation and video editing.

The most powerful stuff at the best price I found was thru cyberlink.

They have this software called power director, power producer etc....
look into them, they are easy to use and powerful programs for the price.

Mac also turns up on eBay regularly, new, in box, with warranty/Applecare, for much less!

You can also get a mac mini, the new ones can handle your dvd no problem, they're only 5-600 dollars.
