Thinking of getting a Happie amp for my smaller gigs. Has anyone tried one?

Haven't tried it, but just took a look at their site.
It looks cheap and it is cheap. Those 2 things add up to one conclusion in my mind.
Also in the 'faq' section they say the mic is 'vhf(that's the best)'
Uhf is the best, Vhf is prone to a lot more interference. -
I use a fender passport, which is heavy, and bought the Happie Amp as a possible easy solution for smaller gigs and perhaps walkaround. I used it a couple of times, and midway through, just turned it off. It is, as it turns out, too good to be true.Comment

Thanks for the info - was it too little power or too cheezy sounding? I'm still looking for a small room amp. Might go with a guitar amp or similar.Comment

We own one....
and are buying a second set-up and a spare speaker....maybe the system has advanced since the thread began?
We get great, rich BIG sound. It took some work to figure out how to focus it in....but now I wouldn't do a small show without it!
We have a very large system for our very large shows....but the HA works great to fly all over and do our smaller (up to 200 or so) audiences!

I realize this is an old thread. I have used two Happie amps for officiating weddings over the last 3 years. They have been absolutely perfect. Brian Foshee, who sells them gives the best customer service around. He is the nicest guy. A performer himself, he is a clown. I can't say enough good about him and this product. If someone had a problem, and did not contact Brian about it, then that is their problem. He has overnighted an amp to me when I had a problem, no questions asked. No one can compare with his service.

I bought and returned the Happie Amp. It worked great indoors and in my back yard in the suburbs, but when I tried to use it outdoors in a downtown area I got nothing but interference and static.Comment

If you are referring to me, I found this thread while doing some searches about a week and a half ago. I had to first register which took some time. I wanted to leave my experience, which is quite different. As I said Brian has the best customer service. So, if a unit fails, he will replace it and usually overnight.

Its 50 w max. However, watts does not really tell you volume. I use the Happie Amp for indoor events with as many as 400 people and voice and music are heard clearly for everyone. My customers call all the time after receiving the system to tell me how impressed they are with the volume.
Honestly, I don't much care for the lapel mic. You can easily spend hundreds to get a good lapel mic and your voice still gets louder and quieter when you look up or down. The headset is excellent. If your not into the "shamwow" look lol we have an osp hs-09 headset mic for $169. That is the very thin tan colored mic.

Reminds me of one i had when i was a kid:
check out the latest version, it has a wireless mic and everything!
Maybe the Happy system will get you by and it seems to work for some people but there's no comparison to professional audio equipment.
Too bad Fender stopped making the Amp cab, they pop up on ebay every now and then.... it has decent sound for small rooms and can handle a quiet street ...
For portability and if you have carry it around maybe have a look at the Roland Cube with a sennheiser ew 100 (battery at both ends).
You will need a real microphone in any case, invest in something good if you can or save until you can. Your mic is one of your most important pieces of gear (if you use one) don't skimp out!Comment

If you want to help people know if its a good product, buy one and try it out. If its not worth every penny and then some ill buy it back and even pay the return shipping.
