    Clown Face Paint info please!

I had a clown part in our local theatre group.
We only gave two inhouse performances, it was intended to take this to the schools in our area.
    However nothing came of it!

I loved the clown aspect and am working on combining this with Saxophone busking (of which I've done heaps)

Still at the research phase, although I've got another paid gig (only chicken feed) at the local farmers market, last time was just music. I filled up my hat/case with brocolli, spinach, peanut butter, frozen blueberries & irish drizzel cake.

Now I want to introduce the clown part of a new act. My new unicyle will be arriving, & once learnt intend to ride while playing the Sax!

Advice on face paints, how to use them, remove them and even clown clothes, re big shoes, braces etc. I'm naturally a weird dresser, so this part is no problemo

    Cheers & Caio

Your best bet is to grab a book on clowning -- lots of advice on how to do make-up, keeping cool, etc, etc. I can suggest some titles, if you like.

Thanks for the reply Dave, & g'day from NZ.

I got a couple of books out the library yesterday, Creative Clowning (by various authors) and
Be a Clown, by Mark Stolzenberg. Both these books have good info for me. Looks like I will be making my own clown shoes. I've also found a supplier of theatrical make up in CHCH NZ https://www.minifies.co.nz/ and have been told to get the Aquacolour Kryolan brand of paints.

Will seek there advice by phone before I order.
Yes please, suggest more clown books, I'm the sort of guy who needs to see things and digest the various options before what's right for me becomes clear!

      Many thanks

I'm sure that you can find some local theatrical store where you could experiment with makeup and receive advice in person before committing the money and ordering a product you've never seen or had the chance to work with. Especially with Halloween coming up.

Ah G'day Schuyler & thanks for the reply,
I have tried some of these face paints before, there is no local theatrical store. Locals more experienced suggested I get Aquacolour, Kryolan from CHCH.
I will only get a small tester kit, so I can play with and finalize my clown face and costume!
          Cheers & Ciao
