I told hilby about it in VA beach, It's works Great! but I lost mine It works from really far away because it's FM based. it has a half a second dely when you hit the next track. but it has a display of the next track on the "two way remote"

I got one of these on Hilby's recommendation, too. the only major problem i've had is that it does not deal well with large-capacity ipods (120GB classic). it will take a long time to sync up, sometimes randomly disconnect the sync and is very sluggish searching music. it works best if you have a small-capacity ipod, ideally with just your show music on it. so, using it with the 3rd gen Nano should be perfect.

i have no idea about the 12V block connection.

                iPod touch

I use a first gen touch. My remote is by Monster and costs under 20 bucks on eBay. I absolutely love it and haven't had any problems. The remote can be worn on your arm like a watch. The range is only 30' but that is all I need.

The one I have been using now and have no problems with is the IJET
it also runs about 20$ and is rf. the range is supposedly about 150 feet, but with actual use I find it to be about 60 feet or so, but also bigger than any stage you will need. I run a DI box on stage and have the ipod mounted in my trunk, if the remote fails i can cue direct.
It has only failed once in the past year.

you do not need that 2 way remote screen, unless you take your remote out of your pocket and look at your track. cue from your pocket and you can control no problem. volume up down, play pause and skip tracks.

Yours probably doesn't have a screen that tells you what track you're on though, does it Greg? I think I'm interested in the one Alex posted, if it's durable.

                      I dont get it....

Why do you want a remote with a screen telling you the track?

are you gonna pull the remote out of your pocket every time you want to advance a track? Doesnt that defeat the purpose of the remote, you might as well, walk over to your ipod and press the button that way, or get an ir remote.

the idea of an RF remote is that you can keep it in your pocket, on your belt arm etc and hit the track you want seemlessly and make it seem as if you are more choreographed than you are...
to pull out your remote and then look at that little screen seems dumb.

also the dock needs to be plugged in so you will need to modify it for the streets, unless you are only playing stages with power.

and lastly it is one more thing to break.

                      just my thoughts.

I had the basic iJet remote, and it worked fairly well. Then I saw that iJet had released a new version with the display screen, so I returned the first one and got the new one. What a piece of shit. Totally unreliable (and I've heard for several others who've had the same experience).

So, I returned the "advanced" unit and got another basic model. . .which doesn't work worth crap either.

I now use a sound person when I need music.

To answer your question Greg, I have a series of 14 songs that I can use to make fun of people, or of situations, a remote where I could see which track I was going for if I needed to is exactly what I want

And no, I'm not putting it in my pocket, I'm hanging it from my lanyard, right next to the other remote control that runs my whole show.

I got a plan, trust me.

i like the screen because if you do need to see the song its right there in your hand - hardly anyone notices what you are doing and its super awesome!

occasionally with the remote in your pocket it hits buttons that you don't want it too.

I just like the fact that I can fade out the music or stop it completely without having to run all the way over to the ipod.
