Questions about carry on cases for people with experience flying in the US and internationally...
For most US airlines, I understand it must weigh less than 18 kg (40 lbs), and not exceed 115 cm (45 in) L + W + H, e.g. 22" x 14" x 9". But for many international airlines, the weight limits are much less -- e.g. Air Canada is 10 kg (22 lbs), Qantas is 7 kg (15 lbs).
Do international airlines usually weigh your carry ons and enforce those limits?
For hard cases, people have recommended Pelican, Samsonite, etc with modifications. Are there others that might look better on stage?
Anyone had experience with the Vanguard VGP series hard cases such as the VGP-300? www.vanguardusa.com/product4.php?id=101
Or its no-wheeled cousin, the X-Pedition 35? www.vanguardusa.com/product4.php?id=463
