    Wireless mic

Hi, i'm going to travel around doing street performing within the next month.I wanted to buy a wireless mic but all the transmitter boxes on the mics I have looked at are run on a mains power supply.Since I will be performing on the street I will need it to be battery operated.Do you know how to overcome this problem or do you know where I can purchase a mic with a battery operated transmitter box. Thanks

Samson have a range of receivers that run on 12volt DC.

Try looking at Sennheiser wireless mics. They do some that are designed to clip onto video cameras, so both the transmitter and receivers run on batteries - mine is an obsolete model that runs on 2 x AA batteries. They aren't cheap, but they are very good. Make sure you get the right one for wherever you do most of your work as the US and European models run on different frequency ranges, making them illegal if used in the wrong place as well as potentially picking up interference from taxis or the police etc.
