I use a mouthstick that has a steel plate screwed to a wooden dowel. They break often. I would like to make a solid aluminum piece but I need to know how the antibacterial coating works, where I can get it, how to apply it. Hopefilly, in the long term, that will be the only part I'll need to replace.

one of two things that I have done.
1.)get a mouth guard, like the ones sports people use and mold it to your mouth and then attach it to your mouth stick.
2.)use this stuff called plastidip. You can get it at most hardware stores, it makes a rubber plastic coating. This is what is on most of the commercial mouth sticks you will see as well as tools wires and other things.
If it gets worn out etc you can re-dip it.
