    LIMO BATTERY

    Awesome!
Haven't done a show in 2 weeks. Last night on pitch I discover the power switch on my Limo has been in the on position for fully 14 days. Sweeeet. It's f*cked. Did a quick search and can't find what battery to get and haven't a clue what I've done with the documentation. Anyone have any advice/instruction on how to go about fixing it. I'm assuming it's a pretty simple case of opening the thing up and popping the same battery back into it. It's the plastic case Limo.
    thx

just because the battery has been fully drained does not necessarily mean the battery is dead...it just may be at bottom energy and require a full on charge.
plug it in for a 24 hour period and see if it has charged or holds a charge.
If it does not, I think it is pretty easy to open up and replace the battery, contact Crate directly.

I think its a 12V 7Amp battery. They should have it at radio shack for like $20. BUt frisbee is right try to plug it in for a while it might hold a charge.

it probably doesnt need a new battery, just a 24hour period of love. But should you need one, and you cant buy one in a shop, I have discovered that they are exactly the same as the batteries that are used in Home Alarm systems. Thats right, anywhere in the world you can replace your battery if you ring one of the vultures that supply these systems

          If you need one

I was able to pull mine out and take it to a store called Battery Warehouse and they had the exact same battery for around 25 bucks.
If we have a store like that in little old Westminster Maryland your bound to find some place like it in California.

When batteries age and/or spend too much time in a discharged or abused state, sulfate crystals can form on the battery plates which impede the flow of electricity and is the main cause of poor battery performance.
You can buy/make a battery desulfator or try and find a place that offers the service.
Probably won't save you money but will save the world from 1 more battery in the trash.

Thanks, guys. I'll try the 24hr thing though right now if I plug it in the little light that means it's charging doesn't go on. $25 for a battery is a no-brainer otherwise. Cheers.

Robin. open the taxi take out the battery and put it on a 12 volt charger. you can get one at the greatest store in the world, radio shack. do you remember the little charger I had with the clips up in my room in "that one town we dont talk about" ? Thats what you need to get a base charge going on your battery. a fast charge will give you juice but you will have to charge it every day. let it charge at a slow pace (trickle) and when it have a full charge just keep topping it up. if that dosent work take it to an old girl friends house and put the battery and a entire roll of foil in the micro wave set it on high for ten minutes and run like f**k!!! or you know, buy a new battery.

I found a battery at a hobby store that sells remote controle things. the battery I got is different by an amp hour or so, but it works just fine. My battery died one too many times and wasn't holding the charge for very long anymore.

Someone told me that if you drain a battery to far into the red it kills the battery. Is this true? Any experiences?

The whole thing I have to back up this statement is that several friends kill there new batteries all the time well I've never had a problem.

To kill a battery in the moon light

                        drop it
                        over charge it
repeatedly over discharge (below 50 %)
                        over heat it
don't use it or recharge it for months.
