Using PA systems

I have a PA system and wirless mike that I use when I do stage shows and school assemblies. I know lots of you use them for busking. Do you recomend doing this? Do city officials ever ask you to turn them off. I know they aren't aloud at the Pike Place Market in Seattle where I do lots of my busking. Do you have problems with them in other places. Thanks in advance for any help or advice on this topic.

By PA System I mean Public Adress System or a Sound System like an amplifier.
