    I hate my renagade torches

I switched from todd smith to renegade torches this year and I'm sorry I did.
the rubber stopper deal at the handle end of the metal part catches on fire because they don't have that metal washer type piece on them like todd smith and henry do; what a bunch of crap. I have six of these things now and I don't really like them. do you think I can fix this?

    try foil tape

Yeah Evan, it's a hard problem to deal with, especially with a volunteer holding them.

It's the big drawback to an otherwise great feeling torch. People I know have wrapped foil tape around the rubber gasket. However, it might be necessary to use muffler tape which is heat resistant.

I recently replaced the gaskets on my torches and a couple weeks later they're already melted again. I'm trying the foil tape.

    Hope it helps.

      me too

I am going to order my second pair (5) of Renegade torches this summer next week. I just bought 5 new torches for an 11 day festival. I used them about 10 times a day. And now I am ordering another set. What I have done is wrapped the rubber with electrical tape. It doesn't look good, but it holds them together. The black rubber seems to burn and flake off way to easily (and it smells like funky shit). Other than that, they aight.

yeah, next time I'm just gonna get a set of todd smith or henry. they have a decent feel without a huge design flaw like flamable gaskets.
my last set of torches were todd smith and they lasted me three summer seasons two to four shows a day before I decided to retire them.
I will never recomend renagade torches to anyone. I'm extreemly dissapointed with the company.

henrys, you can't beat the germans for technical quality. I always use them, and they last a ling time with minimal wear and tear.
