Camcorder to DVD in one step!

Love the theory! Anyone tried it yet? Camcorder has a DVD disc writer or Ram disc enclosed, so you can record to DVD directly.

My friend explained it to me like this:
you pay for it. If you're getting a $150 portable DVD burner included, it means it's taking $150 out of the rest of the camera -- lenses, chip size, viewfinder, design, shell quality, sturdiness, battery life all suffer.

Another thing to think about is; DVDs can not hold as much as a tape, so if there's the same or a longer play time the video is compressed. That means worse picture and possibly worse sound.

Early adopters always foot the bill.
