$51 Sound Pax cardboard speakers and amp alternative

Here is a great deal on the SoundPax card board speakers WITH the digital battery powered 15W T- amp. only $51 ! Nearly weightless, the amp fits in the palm of your hand. The cardboard speakers fold up for storage. I'm using one to provide music for my dancing Christmas Tree costume. Runs off of 8 AA batteries, or has a socket to wire directly to a 12V battery or AC adaptor. I plugged it into a small 2amp hour battery,
    (about 1 x 6 x 3)
turned it up full blast and it blasted for an hour. After an hour the great sound deteriated, but was just fine if I turned the volumn down some. At full blast I had to wear ear muff style ear protectors. The sound is omni directional, great for a dancing Christmas Tree!

it looks too good to be true

Does this really work that well ... how about with an iPod?

P.S. Why wasn't there shit like this when I started performing?

it has a spot for a single little mini plug for "audio imput" . I've hooked it up to CD players and a mp3 player. Output is little spring clips for speaker wire for left and right speakers. I'm not sure how you would hook a mic up to it , but it plays music fine the way it is, and for $51 !!!

If you let the batteries get low, than the sound quality suffers, but otherwise very nice.

Because, obviuously, you are older than cardboard.

True, I remember the day you died during childbirth. We had to bury you without a shoebox.
