    Juggling knives

What do you guys use for knives? What are the best kind? I've heard Dube make good knives, as well as Absolute Circus. Has anyone used Beard or any of these? Thanks for the help.

    ok Tyler,

    you are either:

    a) insane

    b) insane

    c) insane

you have been flooding this forum with questions about torches, rola bolas, prop stands and now knives. You mentioned in the torches Q&A that you were short on cash but it looks like you want to spend your life savings to go with this street performing impulse.

get the dube knives if you are going to buy fake knives. they are the best fake knives out there. but you're on
a budget so what the hell, buy those crappy babache torches, a crappy foot locker from walmart and get the beard knives-- or better yet, get the Freaks! knives -- they're REALLY cheap.

        Tyler,

Pick one of the expensive props you want and just buy it. If you buy everything you would be to distracted, so take it one at a time. Then take your time to make a little routine with it. Having one good routine will make you more $ than 3 mediocre routines. So perfect one, then with the money it makes you, buy the next.

        Lather

        Rinse

        Repeat

Wow, Spike, that's some really sensible advice from a guy who sets his face on fire!

That's a pretty lame attempt at sarcasm, coming from a guy who claims to be French.

              Doc,

that was not an attempt at sarcasm but IRONY. As in, it is IRONIC that someone who does something as ridiculous as setting his face ablaze can turn around and be sensible. I sincerely appreciated Spike's comments and said so in a way that I felt showed him my appreciation, but also took the piss a bit. I put the smiley emoticon to show Spike that I was being good natured and did not intend to ridicule or humilate him for his unfortunate accident. We all make mistakes (as well you know).

that's quite a pot-shot at someone's claims for someone who claims to be a doctor.

                  We're all mad here, us.

                  Tyler
pepper away buddy, ask as many questions as you can think of. No harm in it, you've probably noticed all of them get answered one way or the other.
These boards are here for a couple of reasons, one of which is for people who don't know things to find out things. But BEWARE young Tyler, there also dwell here vast personalities, people who have graduated into being legends in Other Peoples lunchtimes. People who might look at you and see their younger selves (you'd be surprised at how everthing points back to the source with some of these personalities, its a wonder some of them don't implode under the gravity of their own self worth) anyway they might reflect on their own harsh beginnings on the street where nobody liked them and they toiled and subsisted on discarded wrappers and the inadvertant droppings of passing lepers and see you, all questioning, questions questions questions, and getting answers, answers answers. And doth they might raise their heads to the moon and howl. (howling howling howling)
And then they might get petulant, if indeed they've ever been anything else and they might try and be mean to you.
Pay them no heed Tyler, remember to thank the people who help you and let your audiences be your guide.

                    correction:

"they might reflect on their own harsh beginnings on the street where nobody liked them..."

Nobody likes them NOW, that's why they hang out here and antagonize each other. Tyler, although I agree that you should ask whatever comes to mind, and not have what's-his-name yell at you for it, it does seem like you're asking just enough questions to psyche yourself out of actually doing anything, I suggest you take whatever props you have, no matter how crappy they are (you'll learn that lesson on your own), and whatever ideas you have, also don't worry about their quality, put on your best !@#?-eating grin, and go eat !@#? for awhile. You have to fail to succeed, and people here know more about failure than they do success, trust me. Take a big, deep breath, and go out there and SUCK. Royally. And my hat will be off to you, my friend.
