    Roll out floor?

I work on grass a lot, and i'd like to work bounce juggling into my act somehow. I've seen dancers use special floors that they tape over normal stages, but i dont know if this would work for juggling. I"ve tried my prop trunk, but no luck. Any ideas?

If you're quite into carrying really heavy things about all day I'd go for a paving slab nice and solid, good rebound and not going to move about from the bouncing. Did i mention heavy though?

I know this is a little sick but since I travel a lot I can't carry much weight around ... so when I get to town I just go to a local graveyard and grab a slab ... this works everywhere but New Orleans and Japan.

Please respect the dead and replace it after your show.

I used to work on grass myself until i noticed heroin was more entertaining for my audience.
Pack a small trowel in your kitpag and give yourself a little time beforehand and dig down to the bedrock. You may also need to provide binocular 's and powerful torches and note too that coins can hurt when dropped down long distances.

I have a carpenter friend standing behind me who sugests you may want to think about useing some shipping palets with a pergo deck, and some latched to bring them togeather.

His next thought is that you may be better off building an aluminum frame (aka metal studs) with a 3/4 inch plywood + pergo fake wood deck. This Could be done so that it goes togeather with wingnuts, and colapses down to a small form. I have a paper sketch...

He is now talking about ajustable feet...

We just got to electric motors...

You now need a class IV tow hitch...

We are up to an intergrated sound and light system...

I am going to stop now, before we get to--

Too late, it's become a monster (picture this on Monster House and you will get the idea). I'll post this sketch soon as I scan it and upload it...

Now if I can get him to build it for me...

'Kay, well my background is a lot of scenic carpentry and dance floor laying with only a bit of busking, but . . .

The dance floors you're mentioning are a tough but very flexible vinyl stuff. Provides grip, consistency, and safety for dancers, but would not possibly be rigid enough to bounce a ball off if laid over grass. I'm sure you'd do fine with a piece of plywood, probably 1/2inch, in perhaps a two or three foot square. Get yourself good quality ply - at least G1S Birch or something. A couple feet of 1/2" ply isn't terribly heavy, depending on your travel plans.

Hmm . . . perhaps cut it big enough that you can stand on one end and bounce balls off the other. Your own weight will prevent it from going anywhere. I'm thinking . . . 3 feet long, two feet wide . . . elipsoidal rather than recatangular . . . should work. Also, you can paint it however you want, to make it fit with your act and look like something neat rather than like a piece of plywood.

                Hope that helps,
                Calum (Riot Nrrrd/Smithteck Studios)

Try reinforcing your trunk lid? or make the plywood the same size, so it would fit on top, or inside for travel? A piece of cement board ? that stuff they use under ceramic tile floors. Stiff but pretty heavy though.

                  Good luck!
