If you follow the link down far enough it is actually a comparison review of 6 different remotes for the Ipod. 3 are RF, I wouldn't bother with anything IR.

THere is the Abt Ijet, the Griffin Airclick, and the Engineered Audio Remote Remote 2. All of which seem capable of what most people would want. each has a simple 5 button remote (forward, back, play/pause and volume) the differences are in cost, range and remote design.
