    Charging a Crate Taxi 30

I wonder if someone can offer advice on this topic. When charging the amp, the charger LED does not go on, as the manual says it should. However, when I unplug the charger and turn on the the amp, the power light glows amber, which indicate its sufficiently charged. Am I worrying needlessly?

    thanks to all

Perhaps your charger (red) L.E.D. is burnt out, but
If the amp is still operating and the amber light shows, then you just don't need a charge yet. Your battery is still close enough to full that it refuses to be charged(manual says light goes out/charger stops charging when unit's battery is fully charged)
Have you done enough shows with this specific amp to run down the charge yet?

The Taxi works in a similar weird kind of fashion. At least mine does...
When I attach the charger, the charge LED blinks and then dies. It should be lit when charging and I cannot imagine the amp will charge in a second or so. When I undo the charger, it blinks again, now for longer. The amp works fine, though and I noticed most Taxi's work like this.

I had some different problems with the battery and had to replace it, but that didn't fix the weird behaviour.

These types of amps carry a sealed "gel cell" battery, as oppossed to nickel cadmium. Gel cells like to be used, and the more you use them the longer they last. If sitting a few months unused, take it out and charge it overnight just for kicks.

Pyromancer -- Mine does the same as yours.
I've only used it a total of 4 hours on battery power. Other times I used the AC adapter.
I'm very happy with it so far.

thanks to all for your input.
