Just to clarify, I don't have a fender passport, I have a fender squier system. A very cool system, just a little more than I need (A little heavier too).

Is it worth spending the extra $100 or so to get the Limo over the Taxi? Found them locally with the Taxi running about $380 and the Limo selling for $425. Found them on the web with the Taxi at $250 and the Limo at $350. I'd love to buy them here but I can't see spending the extra money for stimulating the local economy.

beware though and don't believe the crate information that says the battery can be run flat. This is bollox as they are not leisure batteries and DO lose memory. Also through excessive vibrations the thing can begin to rattle apart. However its the best amp i have ever had and treated with a little care at times (the odd cuddle) it will be very faithful.

OK, just got a crate limo and shure headset. The link previously mentioned is no longer working. Can someone please tell me how to power the shure off the crate without destroying anything? I hope to get this set up before Thursday.

This thread is a little old, but I'm just starting to look at sound systems. I worked a town fair Columbus Day Weekend, and by the tenth show or so I sounded like a 55 year old smoker when I could talk at all. Also, my volume limited my crowd (and hat [img]mad.gif[/img] ) size.

I did the natural thing and talked to my friend the DJ. He pointed me to a few products and came up with a total that was definitely out of my price range. So, I'm reading this thread, and everybody has an opinion and (as has been pointed out) some people are even affiliated with these companies. I've heard some pretty bad systems, and seen some slick systems fail because of wind, drizzle, problems with the wireless...

So, since Stretch brought it up, is there any place I can actually see and hear these systems? Retailers are hard to find.

Rogue Roller?

Yesss.... I'm finally in!

I've seen or used most of the PA systems mentioned here, but I'm still looking for something more compact, portable & durable.

Has anyone used the Rogue Roller PA? Is the 50W enough for an outside street show - or is it only good for indoors?

50w is way more than most of us use.

we are mostly on ampcans and crate taxis or limos so we are all working with either 15 or 30w (mostly, without wanting to make too much of a generalisation)

i can think of a lot of venues that would complain if i was putting out 50w.

Thanks - that's what I figured. The Rogue Roller is described as being "perfect for smaller rooms", but 50w sounds like enough for outdoors.

Headset Microphone pair

Does anyone know where to find a pair of wireless headset microphones that would connect to a single battery powered receiver? I've been searching on the internet for weeks without success and I am too squeamish about wiring a wall-powered receiver into my Crate Limo amp.

I figure that two mics on a single receiver would be more convenient (and cost effective) than two separate units.
