Thank you both very much for your comments; all very useful and constructive. (Steven, I didn't find your critique negative at all--it was all valid, specific stuff. If you'd been full of crap, THEN I'd say you were negative).
We're actually trying to expand out of the ren faire market; however, we only have footage from three venues, and the best shots are from the festival. So, while I don't want a Renny theme to the site, the point about tying everything together was well taken. In terms of the pix, I think what we really need to do is get into the studio and get some professional shots for the site, with a few performance pictures sprinkled in for variety.

Steven, did you design and build your site, or have someone else do it? It's one of the finest I've seen. In fact, I really wanted the Punks site to be similar, but when I sat down to work on it, I realized that your design was so strong that the best I'd be able to do was rip it off.
Your posts gave me a lot to think about guys, and I think the conclusion I've come to after 2 no-sleeping/hair-pulling/eye-strain-headaching/Dreamweaver-cursing weeks of web design is, I'm no web designer. I'll mess around with it a little more and then probably hire somebody who really knows what they're doing.
