    Variety & Vaudeville in television

    hey guys -

Im doing a research project on the transition from vaudeville and variety shows to television and am trying to find any books or videos or articles that cover anything related to these topics. If you know of any please let me know.

There was an amazing video on PBS about 4 months ago. It documented the major vaudevillians who made the cross-over from stage to tv, most of them still alive and giving live interviews.
I think this was it- American Masters: Vaudeville.

"Everything I know I learned in vaudeville." -James Cagney At the turn of the century in America, the Wright Brothers made their first successful flight,

If its the same thing I saw - it made me cry at the end because I felt so proud to carry on the nobel tradition.
