    The Sanctuary School for Physical Theatre
    expanding the education and development of innovative theatre artists
    and fostering the creation of performance languages which emphasize the
    physical playing of the actor

    Winter Intensive
    December 7th- January 4th
    (no class December 28th)
    Saturdays, 10-1
    Instructors: Dan Griffiths, Paul Kalina, Jim Williams and
    Adrian Danzig

    Develop greater control of your body, tap into your sense of humor and
    increase your physical presence. This intensive is designed to provide
    performers of all disciplines a greater understanding of the concepts and
    techniques instrumental in the creation of Clown Theater. Beginning with the
    basic technique of Etienne Decroux, classes will focus on intricacy of
    movement and developing greater potential, for emotional expression through
    the body. Concepts explored include, space, status, vulnerability character, and
    partnering.

    Chicago Center for the Performing Arts is at 777 North Green Street, on the corner of
    Green and Chicago Avenue (just west of Halsted). It’s a few blocks from the Kennedy
    Expressway (exit on Ogden and go east on Chicago). Valet parking is available, along
    with a lot across the street and some street parking. The theater is four blocks west
    of the Chicago stop on the Brown line el.
