I have a girl works for me sometimes called "Pixie" who is just starting out and has just made her own website.

I'm sure she would love some feedback.

If she wants work, she should make it look more professional. Start with a picture of just her or at least a kid that's having fun.

The links are unclear.

The clip art is cheesy.

It looks like a personal page.

search the forums here for html templates. I think martin posted a decent link.

The key is to get good photos. You, Jester should get more close up photos so that people know who you are and can trust you right up front.

Far off photos establish action, but close ups show a lot more and catch the attention of your viewers.

I have redone the menu box, but I do not plan on changing the names of the pages. Clip art has gone, apart from the main page. Those are the only pictures that I have off me at the moment.

And is there something wrong with added a 'personal' touch to a site?

It'll pay off for her in the end.
I'm seeing major overlap problems with the menu and the box I'm assuming it should be contained in. In fact all the 'design' elements seem to be a little 'off'
Nothing wrong with personal touch, but it does look a little messy.
I think you could optimize that image on the home page so it loads quicker too.

i'm learning to make a new site myself so you'll have plenty of oppertunity to critisize me in the future.

The Pictures will grow as you do more work and have your picture taken.

I think the picture of you in the workshop is a good picture but not for the first picture we see of you.

I do like the flavour of your website, but it does need a lot of work. Your personal touch is going to be strong, what you need to do is to tidy it up.

People will offer criticism, it is mainly to help you. Don't argue with advice, you can either accept it or disregard it.

It isn't easy building a site. You can either pay someone like Ettiene to do a brilliant job for you or you can work at it. I think your basic idea is nice and suits your image.

gav, which box are you talking about? There are 4, the main menu, and three surrounding the picture.

the whitish coloured box that is under/over the menu list.
The words overlap the outline when I view it on my mac with both safari and IE.

Yes, I changed it last night, but until I get abit more time to sort out the boxes proparly, make them the same size, it is going to have to stay like that for now.
