    dvd duplication

I wanted to recommend a friend of mine who does TOP NOTCH DVD duplication.

    For clarification:

DVD Duplication is SHORT RUNS of DVD's (less than 1000)
and REPLICATION is for runs of 1000 or more. The process is different, and if you're really interested in the details, then email me. Anyway...

Bruce Kalver and his company Top Hat Productions did a great job duplicating my DVD.

(his website is not that great, but don't let that scare you)

I sent him the master DVD, and emailed him the label to be printed on the disc, and three days later I had my DVDs and they are gorgeous. His rates are unbeatable for short runs and he is fantastic to work with.

    I used them

I just wanted to say I used them and am very happy with what I got. They were very easy to work with and did a great job at a great price and I had my DVDs back faster than I would have excpected. Thanks for the recomendation etienne. I will use them again.

        Marcus,

        Your welcome!

        Greg,

neither. Printing directly on the disc. I sent him a 300 dpi JPG and it looks GREAT.

Silk screening is part of the REPLICATION process (runs of 1000+ discs).

I didn't ask about packaging. I got my cases at www.shop4tech.com and printed the covers at a local copy center.

            Greg,

            no, Bruce doesn't do packaging...

I got cases at some place that I googled... kind of like Marcus' 'shop4tech'. I had the inserts printed by Gary Stephens who has a little company called:

Great domain names provide SEO, branding, and a memorable experience for your users. Get a premium domain today.

he did a GREAT job, the price right on target (in other words it wasn't, like WAY CHEAP, but it was very fair. And the quality was excellent). Gary was easy to work with... GREAT communication and I would highly recommend him.

The "one stop shop" of DVD production that you are talking about, where they replicate your DVD, package it and shrinkwrap it too is easy enough to find if you google around. Prices range anywhere between $1.25 per disc and $2.50 per disc-- but you will have to order in quantities of 1000 or more. Like I stated in my original post, Bruce is PERFECT if you are doing short runs. Also, Bruce is a performer and runs a small video business on the side. He's been around the world several times over and can tell you some great stories of where he has been and how it used to be. In short, Bruce is exactly the kind of person I want to support and I hope others will as well.
