I have to agree. It looks like a great show. Good pictures, nice copy - Bad website.

Just have a designer give it a day (price, 300 - 400 bucks, that's maybe HALF the price of a good show fee!) and it will be good. Spend a thousand and you'll get a miracle.

      Good Luck.

My eyes have been opened. The background colors, the borders, the navigation menu should look like a professional graphic designer set things up. I did this site using one of Frontpage's canned themes and now I can't do much to fix it up. I need to save up and spend to let a pro take the existing text and photos and put it together with an interesting design.

It does not necessarily cost that much... you just have to find the right person. I put up ads on various job boards when looking for a programmer and I received DOZENS of responses. Be careful because it seems like everyone and their brother considers themselves a graphic designer.

Speaking of... Don't ever let a friend's brother do your graphic design. Unless you like throwing money away and ruining a friendship.

Don't expect to just hand him your pics & text and say "here you go! Make me look great!" That is a sure fire way to get a lousy website. Do several preliminary designs yourself and have a VERY good understanding about what you want to acheive. Be able to explain clearly to the designer what you want-- this will make his /her job SOOOOO much easier.

Every freelancer wants to be paid by the hour. ("Wow, it sure took a long time for those files to load!!!") I pay by the JOB. This motivates them to get it right the first time.

          more later...
