    Video on the web

What are the basics of adding a two minute video to a web site. My master vid is on a Mini DV Digital Video casette, but I don't have a machine that will play it. The video guy gave me that and a master VHS tape from which to make my copies. How do the tape get into the computer? and then what happens?

Rick, the best way to do it is to find someone with a mini dv camera and a computer with a firewire connection. Try to find a friend who will help as video pros will charge you through the yingyang. You then plug the camera into the computer and use a video editing program to capture your footage/edit and compress it for the web. It is very simple if you have the equipment.....
You can capture from the VHS tape but it will be just as hardware intencive and the quality will be substandard compared to the mini dv.

Check if the camera has a memory slot. If you have a camera with a slot for a memory card/stick, you just slide the memory card into the computer memory card slot and capture it in your movie maker program and it's done.

I have a Sony Digital Handycam with Memory Stick. which does MPEG movies. I have a Sony Vaio Digital Studio Computer, and it came with all sorts of movie editing programs already loaded. One program is called Smart Capture which catches your movie. Another program is Movie Shaker which can, if you want, automatically join each clip, add titles and various effects. Both programs interact. Piece of cake!

Hot damn! Link doesn't work! Try copying or cutting and pasting in your browser and see if you can get there by yourself.
