When you advertise yourself, howmany of you out there use a name other than your own? Like the Amazing Dr. Stupendous for example. Who sticks with their own (name)? When you design a buisiness card, I assume your name is the biggest part, so that part must be pretty special. What is in your name?
What's in a name?

Fracksfreakshow. Pretty easy. My name is Frack, I do a freakshow. So thus
Frack + Freakshow = Fracksfreakshow -
I called myself "Nearly Normal" Robert when I first started performing ... I always liked that name ... I got it out of a book by Tom Robbins (Another Roadside Attraction) that I just happened to be reading when I did my first show ... about 3 months later while I was setting up for my street act at the Cannery in San Francisco, a young kid walked by me with his mother and said "Hey, Mommy look ... it's the Butterfly Man!"
Little creep ... someday I"ll find him ... he should be about thirty by now.Comment

i came up with name Stickleback Plasticus in the heady days of enthusiasm and youth.
I wanted something easy to say, easy to remember and catchy.
HA
so i often ask myself why i ended up with the opposite....
"Stickle, what was it? stickyback plaster? sticks and backs? how do you spell it?"
Ahh well...
be imaginitive but remember it will be plastered all over your publicity in indelible ink....Comment

I was called "The Combustable Monkey" until I started opening for Rockabilly shows. The lead sinnger for one of the bands came up to me after one show and said that I needed a more rock and roll name, he then dubbed me "Donny Vomit" Becouse of my balloon swallowing finale.Comment

My dick looked big in her little hand. Oops, wrong thread.
I want the show to be about an ex taxi driver and his skew view of life more than about the circus stunts. "Karl Saliter" just didn't cut it.
I also like the nodding friendship with fantasy that choosing a name for yourself implies. Good topic.

My given name is: Thomas Britton
I've gone by Thom Britain for so many years now that the legal version now looks strange.
I chose my name based on something Jon Racherbaumer (famous magic writer) once said about using a slightly different version than is common and it becomes a mnuemonic device.
Plus I like the way it looks on paper.
Thom

Our group name is The Cowguys, and it's turned from a name into a whole costuming, packaging, PR, Cowvan, thing.
It all started when Jon and I first started performing. Jon is from Prince Edward Island where there is a big ice cream company called COWS. COWS also makes Tshirts, that are pretty funny, so we started performing in those TShirts under the nomer "Out to Pasture"
We later designed our own Tshirts with a Cow crossing sign logo, and everyone started calling us "The Cowguys"
And now I've got a Cowavan, a cow wrist wrest, more cow crap than you can shake a stick at...
