    E-lance

I have just found an amazing service called elance.com. I went..pitched my idea for a new logo...30 people bid to take on my project...I chose the winning bid and in less than 24 hours I pretty much have a finished product...just waiting for final approval and they send me everything on disc. Bitchin!

They deal with pretty much any buisness related item...you pitch whatever your idea...then let them give you their pitch and samples of work...you choose the winner...pay online and talk back and forth online looking at ideas and prototypes...I can not recomend this service enough....and the price I paid was very resonable.

Frisbee, are you still using these people? I ask, because I was just at their site and it appears they no longer do the bidding thing.

Do you know anyone else that did it the old way?

I used them last in March of 2005 to find my current designer who did my most recent website and brochure layout.

What are you looking for to get done?
I can recommend the designer who I hired, he is fast and reliable.

I do not know about elance changing things.

I just went there and it does seem that it is the same, just a new layout.

Go to outsource link and make a proposal, people will then bid on your project. Depending on what you are looking for, you can ask for a mock up and then people will either post you links to ideas, or email you directly.

if you find someone you like and the direction it is going, you can select them and open a direct dialog with them. If you find that all of the ideas coming thru are crap, you can cancel the proposal and either start again or not.

I got a lot of crap in the begining, a lot of people from foreign countries and the designs were bad and the color layout was bad...and then the guy I hired said something that caught my eye (I do not remember what exactly) but I opened a dialog with him and within a day I hired him and have since continued to hire him.

I have used elance in the past and found it very usefull. I am currently using a new site I found to work better for what I wanted http://www.designcontest.net
You post a project and people compete for your prize money. I found it better than elance from the stand point that I didnt have to choose a designer to hire at the start, but choose a winner at the end.
Not taking anything away from elance, I also got a great contract for a very reasonable price on elance. But for design work I am sold on designcontest.net
You can see the results of my contests at http://www.tombtom.com It has my poster, brochure, logo that was all designed on designcontest.net.

Thanks guys, both sound like great resources. I'll be looking closely at each.
